MEDIA RELEASE

UPGRADES FOR EASTERN RANGES SCHOOL

Students in Monbulk are sharing in the benefits of the Allan Labor Government’s record funding in schools, with the unveiling of new facilities at Eastern Ranges School delivering Victorian students the first-class facilities they deserve to support better learning outcomes.

Member for Monbulk, Daniela De Martino, today officially opened upgrades to the school with a tour of its new facilities.

The Labor Government contributed $9.85 million across the Victorian Budget 2022/23 and the Victorian Budget 2023/24 to build the new school upgrades, including general learning areas, administration buildings and amenities.

The school’s newest additions are a Learn to Play room and a wing for senior students.

Modern learning environments help develop creative thinking, promote STEM literacy, and inspire learning for life – critical skills for future success.

In the past 10 years, the Labor Government has invested $16.9 billion to build new schools and deliver more than 2,200 school upgrades to improve educational facilities and support more than 26,000 jobs in construction and associated industries.

This includes almost $1 billion to build, expand and renovate Catholic and independent schools.

This investment will ensure every child can get a great education and that our schools can cater for Victoria’s growing population.
