The Dandenong Ranges will be attracting more visitors, and boosting local jobs and the economy, with the Victorian Government investing $30,000 to help deliver PAVED Festival in Emerald.

Member for Monbulk, Daniela De Martino today welcomed confirmation that the event will proceed in November, thanks to the Andrews Labor Government Small and Medium Events Program, which is aimed at attracting small and medium sized events across Greater Melbourne.

Performing And Visual arts in the Eastern Dandenongs - PAVED Festival, presents a well-planned schedule of high-quality, inclusive arts events that aim to celebrate and strengthen the resilience of artists and provide a boost to the local economy, while providing improved community connections, a collaboration between businesses & artists & increase volunteer engagement with township groups. This project brings all the best parts of the Performing And Visual arts in Emerald (PAVE) Festival est. in 2004, to a broader audience across the Eastern Dandenong Ranges between and within the townships of Emerald, Cockatoo and Gembrook.

Aimed at families, children, couples, friends & people of all ages. The 3-day event will include musical & artistic performances, street performers, art exhibitions, workshops, literary events, children's activities, a market & mini tour experiences supporting local businesses & attractions.

122 event organisers will share in an investment of almost $3 million to support the delivery of events between 1 June and 31 December – with the funding making it easier for organisers to bring their events to life with help to cover event costs, including venue hire, performer fees, staffing and marketing.

The Small and Medium Events Program supports a diverse range of activities including cultural, sporting and creative events.

It will help create ongoing jobs across the industry, connecting organisers with local businesses and suppliers and attracting more visitors to experience the best Melbourne’s suburbs have to offer.
